Tick-Infested Puppies Receive Top Care
On Monday, two 3-month-old puppies arrived in our care in heartbreaking condition. Their bodies were covered in hundreds of ticks, with parasites lodged deep inside their ears, tucked painfully between their tiny toes, and scattered throughout their fur. For puppies so young, the infestation was not only uncomfortable—it was dangerous.
Ticks feed on blood and can quickly weaken young animals, leading to anemia, infection, and the risk of tick-borne diseases. These little ones were clearly exhausted and overwhelmed, and they needed help immediately.
Our team rushed them straight to the ICU, where our veterinary staff began the delicate work of removing the ticks one by one. It took patience, precision, and a great deal of care. Some of the parasites were buried deep in sensitive areas like their ears and paws, requiring careful handling to ensure every last tick was safely removed without causing further pain.
Over the course of the treatment, our team painstakingly cleared the infestation and provided supportive care to help the puppies recover. They were cleaned, treated for parasites, and monitored closely to make sure they were stable and comfortable.
Today, we’re happy to report that these sweet pups are already feeling so much better. With the ticks gone and plenty of love from our staff, they’re beginning to show their true personalities—playful, curious, and full of puppy energy.
Their journey isn’t over yet, but thanks to the quick action of our medical team, these little fighters are finally getting the care they needed. Soon, they’ll be ready for the next chapter of their lives: healthy, happy, and hopefully headed toward loving homes.
