The Kids for Animals Club offers kids ages 7 to 11 an enriching after-school opportunity to experience Pasadena Humane. Kids club will meet twice a week for four weeks– every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Each week, participants will explore topics that include animal welfare, shelter work, and animal-related crafts or games, as well as a supervised animal interaction. At the end of the program parents and guardians will be invited to see what the kids have learned.

Pasadena Humane’s Academy offers kids ages 12 to 14 an in-person opportunity to learn about animal care, behavior, health, and enrichment. At the end of the program, the participants will have a greater understanding of what it takes to pursue careers in animal welfare. Participants will be able to help in the kennels, interview staff, tour the pet medical clinics, assist with tours, and learn about animal behavior and care, all while earning volunteer hours. Pasadena Humane Academy promotes compassion and care for all animals while encouraging tolerance, confidence and adaptability among participants. These sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm.

Is your child ready to become an Animal Adventurer? These workshops offer kids ages 8 to 12 the unique opportunity to learn real-life skills in the fields of dog, cat, or critter care.
During the 75-minute workshop, kids will get the opportunity to speak with a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and learn about the field of medicine as it relates to wild animals. They will also learn and get hands-on practice with animal first aid. This workshops is aimed for kids ages 7 to 12.

In this program, school groups are invited to read and enjoy art-based activities with a certified Pet Therapy Animal at Pasadena Humane. Barks & Arts is intended to promote creative skills while promoting compassion and care for all animals.
*This program is intended for elementary and special education classrooms.

$225 for up to 15 scouts
These in-person sessions offer scouts the opportunity to earn an exclusive Pasadena Humane patch by participating in education, enrichment and service. During this 75-minute program, scouts will learn about animal body language as well as safe and respectful ways to interact with animals. In-person Scouts will go on a behind-the-scenes tour to learn about pet care and how Pasadena Humane cares for the thousands of domestic and wild animals that come through its doors each year. Scouts will end their program by making a craft for the shelter animals they connected with while at the shelter.
Scout Sunday is geared towards scouts ages 5 to 11 (Daisies, Brownies, Junior Girl Scouts & Cub Scouts). Each date can accommodate one scout group of up to 15 scouts with 2 adult chaperons.
