Pasadena Humane Waives Adoption Fees for Large Dogs and Adult Cats, December 14-31

PASADENA, Calif. (December 5, 2025) — Animal lovers looking to brighten their holidays have the perfect opportunity with Home for the Holidays, a festive adoption promotion at Pasadena Humane running December 14-31. During this limited-time event, adoption fees will be waived for large dogs (40 lbs. and over) and cats 1 year and older. This heartwarming initiative is generously sponsored by Pet Care Foundation, thanks to a grant from the Georgia B. Ridder Foundation. As an added bonus, Chewy will be supplying larger Care Packages during Pasadena’s Home for the Holidays campaign, which will include Kismet treats, a cozy bed, two toys, bowls, and a matching leash and collar set for dog adoptees. 

The holidays are a time for warmth, connection, and togetherness—making it an ideal moment to welcome a new companion into your life. As families gather and routines slow, adopters have more time to help pets settle in, create new bonds, and start the new year with renewed joy. Whether you’re curling up on chilly evenings or hosting lively seasonal celebrations, a furry friend can make every moment more meaningful. 

All adoptions from Pasadena Humane include a spay or neuter, a microchip, and any age-appropriate vaccinations. New adopters will also receive a complimentary wellness exam with a partner veterinarian, along with a packet of helpful information on pet care. During this promotion, the standard adoption process applies, and a licensing fee may be required based on the adopter’s location.
