Pasadena Humane Introduces New Animal Control Officer Uniforms
Beginning on Monday, February 16, Pasadena Humane Animal Control Officers will be wearing new official uniforms. The navy-blue uniforms are designed to make officers easy to identify while responding to the needs of the community. Officers can be clearly identified with Animal Control shoulder patches, badges, and embroidered identification.
This marks the first uniform change for Pasadena Humane Animal Control in decades. The updated uniforms reflect the shelter’s continued commitment to public safety and animal welfare, while also reinforcing a friendly, welcoming presence for residents who interact with Animal Control Officers throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
“Our goal was to update our uniforms to clearly identify our officers, while also feeling approachable to the community,” said Jerry Mai, Director of Field Services at Pasadena Humane. “The updated uniforms reflect that our officers are educators, problem-solvers, and advocates—for animals and for the people who care about them.”
The new uniforms allow officers more freedom of movement, which is much needed in their daily tasks of rescuing animals. The refreshed outfits also are more durable and recognizable than the prior version.
Pasadena Humane provides animal control for Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena.
