Pasadena Humane and Hill’s Pet Nutrition to Celebrate a Pet’s Best Day Ever with “Welcome Home” Float in 2025 Rose Parade®
PASADENA, Calif. and OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (October 24, 2024) – Pasadena Humane and Hill’s Pet Nutrition are teaming up for the second consecutive year to raise awareness about pet adoption with their “Welcome Home” float at the 2025 Rose Parade® presented by Honda on New Year’s Day.
The “Welcome Home” float, built by Artistic Entertainment Services (AES), celebrates the joy and companionship pets bring to our lives while highlighting the life-saving power of adoption—especially for vulnerable pets like large dogs. Every dog and cat featured on the float has been adopted from Pasadena Humane with support from Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love Program.
The float depicts a joyful “Best Day Ever” adoption scene, with pets celebrating their new homes. Front and center, wearing “Adopted” bandanas, are Walter, Drake, and Indy—two dogs and a cat who came to Pasadena Humane seeking a second chance. They’re joined by Lua, the dog who rode on last year’s float, and other shelter pets like Miracle, a hit-and-run survivor, and Scooter, a paralyzed dog fitted with a wheelchair by Pasadena Humane. Cats Machu, Pichu, Scout, Potato, and Miss Marple also bring life to the homey scene.
“At Pasadena Humane, each pet we care for has a story of resilience, love, and hope,” said Dia DuVernet, President & CEO of Pasadena Humane. “The ‘Welcome Home’ float embodies the joy of giving shelter pets a second chance, and we’re excited to partner again with Hill’s Pet Nutrition to spotlight these inspiring animals. We look forward to sharing this message with viewers and introducing adoptable pets still waiting for their ‘Best Day Ever.’”
As a caring company, Hill’s is dedicated to supporting shelter pets. Since 2002, the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program has partnered with more than 1,000 shelters in North America, providing more than $300 million dollars worth of science-led nutrition to help pets in need and helping more than 15 million pets find new homes.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Pasadena Humane have partnered to feed Hill’s science-led nutrition to shelter pets during their journey to finding new loving homes. Since partnering with the Hill’s Food, Shelter and Love Program in 2012, Pasadena Humane has provided safe shelter, nutritious food and lifesaving care for 70,000 dogs and cats in need.
“Impact comes from collaboration, which is why we are proud to continue working with our long-time partner Pasadena Humane to raise awareness about the importance of adoption and the beautiful relationships it fosters between people and pets,” said Yvonne Hsu, US President of Hill’s Pet Nutrition. “For more than 22 years the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program has partnered with thousands of shelters to help more than 15 million pets find new homes. We look forward to the impact of our float in the 2025 Rose Parade® as we use this national opportunity to help more pets find their ‘welcome home’ with loving families.”
Last year, Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Pasadena Humane’s float, “Feed the Love,” designed by AES, won the Director’s Award for most outstanding artistic design and use of floral and non-floral materials. This year, the “Welcome Home” float continues the tradition of showcasing the profound impact of adoption and the role science-led pet nutrition plays in helping pets be happy and healthy, and in return, more adoptable.
