Matilda’s Happy Adoption
Matilda (formerly known as Sour Patch Kid) was in rough shape when she first arrived at Pasadena Humane. The little four-month-old tabby kitten had been found as a stray at a high school in Pasadena, her back leg dragging behind her. Upon examination, our veterinary team determined that her leg was so severely injured, it would need to be amputated.

Despite everything Matilda had been through, she had such a sweet disposition and a resilient spirit. Just one day after her amputation, she was already walking around her kennel on three legs. And not long after that, she was able to move from our ICU to our Neely Cat Center, where she met her wonderful adopter, Madelyn.

Now nine months old, Matilda is thriving. The fur over her surgical scar has fully grown back, she’s happy and playful, and she is so very loved. We are so grateful to Matilda’s adopter for giving this precious kitten a second chance and the brightest of futures.
