Adopt a “Resolution Buddy” for $20 at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA

Categories: In the News

The pets at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA (PHS) are ready to help your New Year’s resolutions become realities. Whether it’s getting more exercise, spending quality time with loved ones or learning new skills, PHS will match you with the dog, cat or critter to help you achieve your goals.

Meet some adoptable resolution buddies:

Spend Time in Nature: Radar loves to get outside and chill in some shady grass or a nice wooded area. Believe it or not, his ears actually act as a radar to help him find the best spots out in nature, and he’s a pro at stopping and smelling the flowers! If you’ve been spending too much time staring at phones, computer screens, and televisions, one look at Radar will remind you that you have a friend who can help you unplug.

Be More Productive: Lux thinks part of your problem is that you type too slow. By laying on your keyboard, she’ll vastly increase your word count in no time! Or, she’ll hit the escape key and close all your windows. But you know what, part of being productive is about taking breaks, too. Lux will make sure you stop working every now and then to pet her and tell her how pretty she is.

Eat Healthier: When you give Blizzard some spinach leaves or carrot stalks, you’ll have plenty left over for yourself. Is carrot cake a vegetable? Probably not. But there are lots of other healthy meals you can make when Blizzard shares his leftover veggies with you! Just remember, a rabbit’s diet should consist mainly of a high-quality pellet, timothy hay, and leafy greens. And although humans can eat carrot cake, roasting carrots in a little olive oil is probably the healthier way to eat them.

The adoption fee for all adoptable dogs, cats and rabbits will be just $20 from January 2 to January 5 as part of the Adopt a Resolution Buddy promotion at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. All dog and cat adoptions include the spay or neuter surgery, a microchip and age-appropriate vaccines. To view adoptable animals, visit pasadenahumane.org/pets.
