GET TO KNOW YOUR WILD NEIGHBORS AT WILDLIFE DAY!
Pasadena Humane will host Wildlife Day on October 8, from 11:00 – 2:00 at the shelter. This free all-ages event features a vendor marketplace for wildlife-themed merchandise, an interactive craft space for kids, educational wildlife talks, giveaways, and more. Attendees will get to meet ambassador animals from a variety of local wildlife organizations and learn more about the wild animals cared for by Pasadena Humane.
The Pasadena Humane team of wildlife experts will be on hand to answer questions and offer tips on coexisting with wildlife and the hazing of wild animals when necessary. Educational talks will be given by Pasadena Audobon Society and Pasadena Humane’s wildlife expert Lauren Hamlett.
“We are lucky to live amongst so much wildlife,” says Hamlett. “We want to empower everyone to be good neighbors to the native species here, and joining us for Wildlife Day will be a fun way to learn how.”
Representatives from the Southwest Herpetological Society, International Bird Rescue and Pasadena Audobon will be present, along with Californica Nursery, who will be showcasing wildlife-friendly native plants. Vendors include Barefoot Seeker Art, Srimoyee Handmade Art, Margaret Gallagher Art and Berbo Studios.
Pasadena Humane, located at 361 South Raymond Avenue in Pasadena, is one of only two shelters in Southern California licensed to rehabilitate wildlife. At their Sandra J.Goodspeed Wildlife Center, the shelter cares for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife with the goal of releasing animals back to the wild.
