Art Show to Benefit Local Animals

PASADENA, Calif. (October 23, 2023) – – Pasadena Humane is having an art gallery reception for the Animal Stories Art Show on Friday November 10th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The exhibition will feature animal-themed artwork created by students in Pasadena Humane’s Kids of Animals and Academy programs, as well as Pasadena Humane staff pieces and works donated to the shelter by local artists.

The one-night-only free event takes place in the training room at the shelter located at 361 S. Raymond Avenue in Pasadena. All artwork will be available for a suggested donation with proceeds benefitting the shelter. Guests will be entertained by music by January and light bites will be served.

The Kids For Animals Club is an enriching after-school opportunity for kids ages 7 to 11 to gain a better understanding of the animals in our community. Academy at Pasadena Humane is a unique after-school experience for kids ages 12-14 to explore a variety of animal-related topics including veterinary health, animal evolution, wildlife appreciation, and how to pursue a career in animal welfare. The students in both programs have been hard at work over the past several weeks producing eco-friendly artwork for the event using recycled materials.

“There are so many kids who love animals and art,” says Loni Watson, Director of Humane Education and Outreach at Pasadena Humane. “It was important for us to give these young animal lovers a place to showcase their creativity while giving back to the animals in their community.”

Alongside the Pasadena Humane student work, Gallery Nucleus and Twinkle Monster have donated work to the show. There will be over 50 pieces on display and for sale.
