CELEBRATE HAPPY, HEALTHY CAT MONTH WITH PASADENA HUMANE

PASADENA, Calif. (August 30, 2024) – – September is Happy, Healthy Cat Month, and Pasadena Humane is celebrating our feline friends and everything that makes them purr! Throughout the entire month of September, adoption fees are waived for all adult cats (six months or older).

The shelter hopes to encourage families to consider opening their homes to a more mature cat as September is a time when adoptions slow down after a busy summer season. Adult cats are often overshadowed by adorable young kittens, resulting in longer stays in the shelter.

“Adopting an adult cat can often be much easier than a kitten,” explains Irina Divincenzo, Adoptions Manager at Pasadena Humane. “A ‘grown-up’ cat is already litter-box savvy and calmer than a kitten. Plus, their personality is already developed, so you’ll have a better idea of how they’ll fit in your home.”

If you are already a feline owner, now is a good time to make sure your purr-babies are up to date on their vaccines, bloodwork, and other routine medical needs. Pasadena Humane offers vaccination clinics for cats (and dogs) every Tuesday, and appointments can be scheduled online at pasadenahumane.org/vax.

The Pasadena Humane Shelter Shop has plenty of ways to keep your cat happy, too. The Shop is stocked with cat toys, scratchers, premium food and plenty of catnip to keep kitty mentally stimulated and healthy.

The adoptions office is open daily with appointments in the morning and walk-in hours from 2 to 5 p.m. To see available cats, visit pasadenahumane.org/cats.
