LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
California law requires every dog over four months old to be vaccinated against rabies and licensed. You will be required to license your pet at our Vaccine Clinic if your dog does not already have a pet license. If the rabies vaccine is current and you have proof of spay/neuter you may purchase the license in advance. Please bring proof of previous vaccines and spay/neuter to your appointment. There is an additional fee for a pet license. Fees vary by city.
APPOINTMENTS
A limited volume of low-cost pet vaccine appointments are available to residents of Pasadena Humane’s 11 service cities. Proof of residence is required to book.
Due to the nature of our high-volume pet vaccine clinic, we cannot vaccinate animals that:
- Have a history of aggressive or defensive behavior with humans.
- Have a history of not getting along with unfamiliar animals (dogs only).
- Have a history of vaccine reactions.
- Have a history of seizures.
- Are currently displaying any symptoms of illness.
If your pet has any of the items listed above, we kindly ask that you see a private veterinarian regarding vaccinations.
Book your pet vaccination appointment online using the scheduling tool. Appointments will open the last week of the month for the following month.
Demand is high and appointments fill quickly. If you are unable to find an appointment, please check back throughout the month for cancellations or visit our veterinary resources page for a list of other local providers.
Reminders:
- Appointments are for those in our service cities. Proof of residence will be required to book.
- Per state law, dog licensing is required and will be sold during the clinic.
- Please make a separate appointment for each pet. We allow a maximum of two pets per person, per day.
- Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with further instructions.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Once your payment is made, the appointment may be rescheduled up to 24hrs prior to the appointment date. No-shows or late arrivals to appointments will be non-refundable.
If you need to reschedule/cancel within 24 hours of the appointment date, please call SNiP at 626.792.7151 ext.973 during business hours. Last minute changes can be subject to a $25 rescheduling fee.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT VACCINATION
Please monitor your pet for 24 hours after vaccination. It is not unusual for a pet to be quiet and uncomfortable for up to 24 hours after a vaccination. There may be localized pain, loss of appetite, and lethargy associated with shots. If these signs persist longer than 24 hours, take your pet to a veterinarian for examination.
If you are concerned for your pet after their vaccination, view our vaccine reaction information sheet.
In the rare case your pet experiences a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction from the vaccine, please take them to a veterinary emergency clinic right away.
