About this pet

Alaskan Husky | 1 Year 4 Months | Male | A519188

Riley is a 1-year-old white husky with striking eyes and a courageous heart. He was found during the Eaton Fire with significant burn injuries and has been on a long road to recovery ever since. While in our care, Riley has received extensive medical and behavioral treatment and has shown incredible strength and resilience every step of the way.

Due to his history, Riley is sensitive to touch and may take time to build trust with new people. Once he connects, his playful, high-energy personality shines through. He’s looking for a special home that can support his medical and behavioral needs as he continues to heal, inside and out.

Riley’s ideal home will:
-Have all residents age 21 or older
-Include a secure outdoor space with fencing 6 feet or higher
-Be located within one hour of Pasadena Humane
-Be pet-free or include just one dog of equal or larger size (a meet and greet will help us assess compatibility)

To set Riley and his new family up for success, potential adopters will meet with him at least twice prior to adoption. These visits will include behavior consulting and training tips from the certified trainers who have worked with him since he entered our care. After adoption, we’ll continue to offer behavior support to ensure a smooth transition into his new life.

Riley has already overcome so much and is ready to find a home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. If you have the heart, home, and patience to welcome a very special dog, Riley may be the one for you.

We brought her straight to our ICU, where we found burns on her tiny ears. She is safe and resting in an incubator. She will be heading to her foster home immediately. Please note: a foster has already been found for this puppy. We have taken in over 400 animals from the Eaton Fire. To help provide them with resources, please donate at give.pasadenahumane.org/fire (link in bio).
In the wake of the Eaton Fire, we’ve been overwh In the wake of the Eaton Fire, we’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support of our community and partner organizations. Within hours of the outbreak, multiple shelters and rescues stepped up to help us, opening their doors to our adoptable shelter pets. @sdhumanesociety, @sbhumane, @bfas_la, @humanesocietyvc, @sacramento_spca, @annenbergpetspace, and @little_bitty_animal_sanctuary worked tirelessly to transport our animals to safety. This effort has made an immeasurable difference, freeing up space for us to take in evacuated and stray animals in need. @wetlandswildlifecarecenter has also been a lifeline, transporting wildlife to their center for care and rehabilitation. We cannot express enough how deeply grateful we are for the generosity, compassion, and teamwork of these incredible organizations. Their support has been nothing short of lifesaving. We’ve also been deeply moved by the outpouring of support from our community, with so many of you offering to foster pets in need. While the majority of the animals in our care right now are emergency boarding animals or strays that may soon be reunited with their families, we anticipate a growing need for long-term foster homes in the coming days. If you have emailed foster@pasadenahumane.org, we have kept your information on file for any future needs. Many families will need extra time to rebuild, and we’ll be there to help their pets in the meantime. We are beyond thankful for every offer, and we know that together, we will continue to care for those who need us most.
