Snoozing on the armchair at the rear of the float is Lua. On January 1, 2024, Lua proudly rode on the Pasadena Humane/Hills Pet Nutrition Rose Parade float “Feed the Love”. Lua was the perfect representation of many of the “longer stay” shelter dogs at Pasadena Humane and other shelters around the country over the past year. Lua is a well-mannered, middle-aged, large breed dog, who was likely overlooked due to her breed, age, and size. Shortly after appearing in the Rose Parade in 2024, her foster mom realized she couldn’t live without this sweet girl and made Lua’s Best Day Ever when she officially adopted her.
