Humane Heroes is an exciting summer camp for youth who want to make a real difference, earn community service hours, and explore careers in animal welfare. Campers jump in to support the shelter through hands-on service projects while discovering how different departments work together to care for animals and serve the community. Through guided lessons and real-world experience, participants get an inside look at careers like veterinary medicine, animal behavior, fostering, and shelter operations—all while building responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills along the way. Please note that while we strive to include animal interactions in every camp day, activities may vary based on the animal population and the needs of the shelter at that time.
