Melanie Anderson – Puppy Raiser (April 30)
Melanie Anderson grew up with chickens, turkeys, ducks, a calf, rabbits, cats and dogs. As an adult, her love for dogs grew. As retirement approached, she looked for opportunities to work with dogs. That’s when she found Guide Dogs of America (GDA). Five months after retiring, Melanie began raising her first puppy, Truman. She has raised 2 other puppies since Truman and now volunteers on the GDA campus in the nursery with puppies up to 8 weeks old.
