Trusted Spay and Neuter Surgery Near Bungalow Heaven, Pasadena, CA

There's a difference between a surgical team that performs spay and neuter procedures occasionally and one that has made these operations their entire focus. At Pasadena Humane's SNiP clinic, our surgeons focus on spay and neuter procedures every day, and Bungalow Heaven pet owners see the results firsthand. Years of concentrated practice have allowed our team to refine every step of the procedure, keeping most pets under anesthesia for less than 15 minutes and complication rates well below average. Your pet receives continuous, personalized attention from both a veterinary technician and a veterinarian from the moment they arrive until they're ready to go home. Long-acting pain relief keeps them comfortable during recovery, and our transparent, all-inclusive pricing means you'll never face unexpected charges. Reserve your pet's surgical appointment and give them the care that comes from a team built entirely around their procedure.

Why Choose Pasadena Humane’s Snip Clinic?

Specialized expertise you can trust

Our surgeons perform spay/neuter surgeries all day, every day—leading to exceptional skill and fewer complications.

Experienced surgeons means less anesthesia.  Most pets are under anesthesia for less than 15 minutes, reducing risks and speeding up recovery.

Animals receiving surgery here have a dedicated tech and/or veterinarian monitoring them at each step of the process.

If our veterinarian feels your pet has a higher risk or anesthesia or surgery or would be best served by a clinic with additional tools at their disposal, we don’t hesitate to speak with the owner and make that recommendation.

Lower Cost does not mean lower quality

Our entire clinic is designed for efficiency, reducing overhead while maintaining high-quality care.

We buy supplies in bulk, run a lean operation, and pass savings directly to you.

We are designed for high-quality, high-volume spay/neuters

Every part of our clinic is optimized for safe, efficient surgery.

Unlike general practices juggling dozens of tasks (phones, lab work, sick visits, pharmacy, etc.), we do one thing—and do it exceptionally well.

Our pricing is all inclusive

Same price regardless of heat cycle, pregnancy, pyometra, or umbilical hernia.

Includes vaccines, microchips, and other preventative services we offer.

Free post-op rechecks for any spay/neuter concern.

We use anesthetic and pain protocols that meet and exceed the latest recommendations from professional veterinary groups. We utilize long acting medications to manage pain so that when your pet gets home, you can focus on recovering and not needing to give your pet more medication.

Comprehensive Vaccine Protection for Bungalow Heaven Companions

Vaccines are one of the best tools available for keeping your Bungalow Heaven pet healthy, and staying current on immunizations makes a difference over the course of their life. These treatments prepare your companion's immune system to recognize and fight dangerous diseases, either preventing infection entirely or reducing how serious the illness becomes if exposure occurs. Dogs in Bungalow Heaven need core protection, including rabies and DA2PP, plus additional vaccines like Bordetella for kennel cough, canine influenza, and leptospirosis, depending on their lifestyle and how much time they spend around other animals. Cats require rabies and FVRCP vaccines to stay protected against the most common and dangerous feline diseases. Puppies and kittens need a series of shots spaced a few weeks apart, while adult pets benefit from regular check-ins to make sure their protection stays current. Schedule a vaccination appointment and let our team put together a plan that fits your Bungalow Heaven, Pasadena, CA, pet's needs.

Vaccination Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I vaccinate my pet? How do vaccines work, and how do they help my dog/cat?

Vaccines can help your pet in two ways – they can prevent your pet from contracting a deadly disease or they can make the clinical signs of a disease much less severe. Many of these diseases have life long or deadly consequences – and once a pet has been infected, it is too late to treat.

Vaccines help all of the pets in the community by  reducing the occurrence of disease – less sick pets means less viruses and diseases being shed and contaminating the areas where our pets spend time.

How often do I need to vaccinate my pet?

This depends on the age of the pet and the pet’s lifestyle. Kittens/puppies should be vaccinated every 2-3 weeks until they are 4-5 months old. While some vaccines in adults (such as rabies or distemper) can often provide immunity for 3 years, others such as kennel cough or influenza may need to be repeated as often as 6 months depending on your pet’s lifestyle.

We recommend checking in on the average adult pet’s vaccines yearly to make sure everything is up to date unless your pet spends a lot of time at boarding facilities, dog parks or day cares.

What are the most important vaccines my pet needs? Are there other vaccines I should also consider?

The American Animal Hospital Association recommends the following core vaccines for dogs: Rabies (required by law) and DA2PP. Other recommended vaccines for our area: Bordetella (kennel cough), Canine influenza, and Leptospirosis.

For felines, Rabies (required by law) and FVRCP are recommended.

Are vaccines painful, and do they cause any side effects?

Most pets don’t notice the vaccines being administered at all – especially when we distract them with some ear scratches or some treats. The most common side effects include a small swelling at the injection site which subsides after a week or so. Some pets might be a little tired, not want to eat quite as much or be a little tender at the site of the injection. A pet may even occasionally vomit or have some diarrhea – this is normal as their immune systems are mounting a response to a perceived disease threat.

There are occasionally more serious allergic reactions consistent with anaphylactic shock – difficulty breathing, severe vomiting/diarrhea, collapse. Pets with immune diseases may have their disease triggered by a vaccine. These typically happen within 10 minutes of being vaccinated.

Microchipping

During your pet’s spay/neuter, we offer microchipping free of charge. Microchipping is a simple, non-surgical procedure that is a customary practice that can reduce the number of lost pets and reunite owners with missing pets.

Microchipping Services for Bungalow Heaven, Pasadena, CA, Pet Owners

If your pet ever goes missing, a microchip dramatically improves your chances of getting them back. Unlike ID tags that can wear out or collars that can come loose, a microchip stays with your Bungalow Heaven pet for life. The rice-sized device is placed just beneath the skin in a quick procedure that causes minimal discomfort, and its unique identification number connects to a national database with your contact information. Any shelter or veterinary clinic in the country can scan for the chip and reach you immediately after your pet is found. Pasadena Humane makes it easy to add microchipping to a vaccine or surgical visit, so you can handle everything in one appointment. Book your microchipping appointment today.
