Pasadena Humane Expands Animal Services to City of Duarte
Pasadena Humane and the City of Duarte are pleased to announce a new partnership expanding Pasadena Humane’s animal care and control services to the Duarte community, starting July 1, 2026.
Pasadena Humane will assume responsibility for all animal control and sheltering services currently handled by Duarte Animal Control and San Gabriel Valley Humane Society. Pet licensing services will transition to Pasadena Humane the following year, on July 1, 2027.
“Duarte is proud to partner with Pasadena Humane. Their experience and compassion will strengthen animal care services for our residents and ensure animals in our community receive the support they deserve.” said Duarte Public Safety Director Larry Breceda on the partnership.
The addition of Duarte represents a natural extension of Pasadena Humane’s service area along the 210 corridor and strengthens the organization’s ability to serve people and animals throughout the region. With the organization’s established infrastructure, experienced team, and broad range of services, Pasadena Humane is well positioned to meet the needs of both residents and animals in Duarte.
“We are thrilled for this opportunity to welcome Duarte into the Pasadena Humane service area,” said Chris Ramon, President and CEO. “This partnership reflects the trust that neighboring communities place in our organization and the dedication of our staff and volunteers who make this work possible every day. We are excited to build our relationship with Duarte, delivering the high-quality programs and services that our community has come to rely on.”
Duarte’s approximately 24,400 residents and their pets will benefit from Pasadena Humane’s comprehensive network of services and resources, including animal sheltering, pet adoptions, lost-and-found services, low-cost spay/neuter and vaccines, outreach initiatives, owner assistance programs, training classes and workshops, volunteer engagement, and more.
In addition to companion animal services, Duarte residents will have access to Pasadena Humane’s wildlife support, including expert guidance through the wildlife helpline, humane exclusion assistance, wildlife rehabilitation services, and educational resources that promote safe and humane interactions with wildlife.
Pasadena Humane currently provides animal control and sheltering services to 11 cities across the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding communities. The addition of Duarte further strengthens the organization’s regional network of care and commitment to supporting animals and the people who love them.
