Join the excitement with our Jr. Vets Club—an immersive after-school program designed to captivate children aged 7 to 11. Your child will be part of an extraordinary journey of discovery and compassion. Dive into engaging topics such as veterinary health, wildlife conservation, and the thrilling world of animal careers. But it’s not just about learning; it’s hands-on action! Your child will actively participate in meaningful service projects, fostering a deep connection with our furry and feathered friends.
Jr. Vets meets every Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Jr. Volunteers (Ages 12 to 14)
$230 per four-week session
Embark on a compassionate journey with Jr. Volunteers at Pasadena Humane! Designed for ages 12-14, this four-week program immerses young animal enthusiasts in the realms of animal husbandry and enrichment with service activities like making essential heating pads for neonatal kittens, assembling care packages for different teams and creating pupsicles for shelter dogs. Jr. Volunteers will practice the values of responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and service. Jr. Volunteers will receive service hours for each class they attend.
Jr. Volunteers meets every Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
NEW: Jr. Volunteers who register for the month can opt for a four-pack Monday add-on, providing additional opportunities to earn service hours while helping shelter animals.

Scout Programs (Ages 5 to 12)
$345 for up to 20 scouts
Set out on an unforgettable adventure with our Scout Programs! Dive into a 75-minute immersive experience for scouts to earn an exclusive Pasadena Humane patch. Engage in hands-on educational activities, enriching encounters, and meaningful service tasks. Our expert-led exploration allows groups of up to 20 scouts, accompanied by two adult chaperones, to uncover the care we provide to the diverse animals that pass through our shelter annually.
Your troop can choose:
- The Pasadena Humane experience which is suitable for all ages within any troop where your troop will go on a tour and engage in a service project for shelter animals depending on shelter needs.
- The Tailored program meets patch scout requirements ranging from Brownies to Cadettes. These tailored programs ensure an educational journey resonating deeply with each scout’s level and interests.

It’s more than a visit—it’s an inspiring experience that fosters compassion and knowledge in young minds while supporting our mission to care for and protect our beloved animal companions.

Party Animals Birthday Parties
Party Animals! VIP Birthday Experience (ages 5 and up)
$125
During your one-hour private VIP experience, you will learn about Pasadena Humane’s mission and vision of providing opportunities for animals to find homes. The children will visit the dog kennels, the Neely Cat Center, and the Critter House. At the end, the birthday child will get to name one of our shelter animals! This experience is suitable for up to three children and one adult chaperone.
Party Animals! Birthday Party for Kids (ages 7 and up)
$425
During this two-hour party, children will learn about Pasadena Humane’s mission and vision of providing opportunities for animals to find homes. They’ll make purposeful animal enrichment toys and enjoy a behind-the-scenes shelter tour. The celebration will end with a birthday celebration in the Pasadena Humane classroom. Our Party Animals birthday experience is suitable for up to 20 people (children and adults).

Paws and Claws: Spring Camp (Ages 7-11)
Paws and Claws: Spring Camp is a 3-day camp designed for kids ages 7–11 to explore the wonders of local wildlife while connecting with shelter animals. Campers will learn how animals communicate, their habitats, and ways to protect them through engaging lessons and hands-on activities that inspire curiosity and compassion.
While kids won’t interact directly with wild animals—since we aim to keep wildlife wild—they’ll enjoy meaningful encounters with shelter animals based on the shelter’s current population. Each day includes a snack break; snacks are not provided, so children must bring their own food. Please note, this is not a nut-free facility.

Summer Camp
Junior Vets Summer Camp (Ages 7-11)
Calling all future veterinarians! Junior Vets Summer Camp is a hands-on experience designed for ages 7–11, where kids will step into the world of veterinary medicine. Campers will explore pet health, anatomy, first aid, and preventive care, learning how veterinarians diagnose and treat animals. Through engaging lessons, interactive activities, and social-emotional learning, they’ll also practice basic exam techniques, understand animal behavior, and discover how wildlife rehabilitators care for injured animals.
Campers will meet a variety of shelter animals based on the shelter’s current population. While we cannot guarantee a specific animal each session, we strive to provide safe and meaningful encounters when possible.
