Jr. Vets Club (Ages 7 to 11)

Join the excitement with our Jr. Vets Club—an immersive after-school program designed to captivate children aged 7 to 11. Your child will be part of an extraordinary journey of discovery and compassion. Dive into engaging topics such as veterinary health, wildlife conservation, and the thrilling world of animal careers. But it’s not just about learning; it’s hands-on action! Your child will actively participate in meaningful service projects, fostering a deep connection with our furry and feathered friends.
Join us every Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., providing your child with the chance to unleash their creativity while making a positive impact on the world of animals.

Jr. Volunteers (Ages 12 to 14)
$215 per four-week session
Embark on a compassionate journey with Jr. Volunteers at Pasadena Humane! Designed for ages 12-14, this four-week program on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. immerses young animal enthusiasts in the realms of animal husbandry and enrichment with service activities like making essential heating pads for neonatal kittens, assembling care packages for different teams and creating pupsicles for shelter dogs. Jr. Volunteers will practice the values of responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and service. Jr. Volunteers will receive service hours for each class they attend.
With a registration fee of $215, extend a helping hand to paws in need and join us in fostering a community of caring hearts!

Scout Programs (Ages 5 to 12)
$325 for up to 20 scouts
Set out on an unforgettable adventure with our Scout Programs! Dive into a 75-minute immersive experience for scouts to earn an exclusive Pasadena Humane patch. Engage in hands-on educational activities, enriching encounters, and meaningful service tasks. Our expert-led exploration allows groups of up to 20 scouts, accompanied by two adult chaperones, to uncover the care we provide to the diverse animals that pass through our shelter annually.
Your troop can choose:
- The Pasadena Humane experience which is suitable for all ages within any troop where your troop will go on a tour and engage in a service project for shelter animals depending on shelter needs.
- The Tailored program meets patch scout requirements ranging from Brownies to Cadettes. These tailored programs ensure an educational journey resonating deeply with each scout’s level and interests.

It’s more than a visit—it’s an inspiring experience that fosters compassion and knowledge in young minds while supporting our mission to care for and protect our beloved animal companions.

Party Animals Birthday Parties
Party Animals! VIP Birthday Experience (ages 5 and up)
$125
During your one-hour private VIP experience, you will learn about Pasadena Humane’s mission and vision of providing opportunities for animals to find homes. The children will visit the dog kennels, the Neely Cat Center, and the Critter House. At the end, the birthday child will get to name one of our shelter animals! This experience is suitable for up to three children and one adult chaperone.
Party Animals! Birthday Party for Kids (ages 7 and up)
$325
During the 1 ½ hour party, children will learn about Pasadena Humane’s mission and vision of providing opportunities for animals to find homes. They’ll make purposeful animal enrichment toys and enjoy a behind-the-scenes shelter tour. The celebration will end with a birthday celebration in the Pasadena Humane classroom. Our Party Animals birthday experience is suitable for up to 15 people (children and adults).

One-Day Workshops
Santa Paws: A Holiday Crafting Workshop (All Ages)
Help fill our shelter animals’ stockings! At this drop-in craft time, we’ll provide all the supplies for you to create beds, toys, and other presents for the dogs and cats at Pasadena Humane to open on Christmas day. You’ll also be able to create your own craft to take home! Hot chocolate, coffee, and homemade cookies will be provided.

Junior Trainers (Ages 12 to 16)
Considering a career as a dog trainer? This 4-week course is a perfect place to start! Kids will learn skills from our certified dog trainers including: reading dog body language, leash handling, how to effectively use positive reinforcement, and more! Students will build trust with their pets using evidence-based training methods and receive feedback from the training coach. Open to young people and teens between 12-16 years of age. One adult guardian 18+ must also be present during all classes. This class is appropriate for pet dogs that are comfortable around other dogs at an ~8ft. Distance. Not appropriate for reactive or very fearful pets.
This class will be returning in 2025.
