How We’re Supporting the Community:

Pasadena Humane serves as a critical lifeline for pets impacted by the Eaton Fire, and every evacuated area in the Eaton Fire currently falls within our service area. We are committed to providing care and resources to support our community during this unprecedented emergency:

  • Emergency Response: We have trained emergency responders on the ground providing lifesaving assistance, including animal evacuation, care for injured animals, and resources such as food and supplies for animals who remain in the fire zone.
  • Evacuation Center: Pasadena Humane is the designated evacuation center for animals affected by the Eaton Fire. We are providing animals impacted by the fire with safe shelter and medical care.
  • Lost Pet Support: If you’ve lost a pet, visit our Pet Connect page. We have extended our stray hold to 21 days to give families the chance to reconnect with their lost pets.
  • Emergency Boarding: We will continue to provide emergency boarding for lost pets whose families have been evacuated, ensuring animals are cared for until their families can safely reclaim them.
  • Community Cats: Our team is setting up feeding stations and humane traps for community cats in the fire zone.

Important Safety Reminder:

For your safety and the safety of animals, do not enter burn zones to rescue or search for animals. Trained responders are on-site and equipped to handle these situations.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate: We are in need of monetary donations to help us cover critical expenses as we start to see a significant increase in the number of burned and injured animals coming to our shelter. Please donate now at give.pasadenahumane.org/fire
  • Pet Supply Donation Update: We are moved by the outpouring of support we’ve seen from people dropping off donations and supplies. At this time, we can no longer accept any additional items until further notice. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are fully stocked and unable to store additional items without impairing our operations.
  • Foster: We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible support from our community members willing to foster a pet. At this time, we are no longer in need of additional foster volunteers. Most of the animals in our care are emergency boarding pets staying at the shelter so they can quickly be reunited with their families as soon as they are able to go home.
  • Volunteer: We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming interest in volunteering with us. Due to the high number of wonderful people eager to help, we are temporarily pausing new volunteer applications as we work to onboard everyone. We sincerely appreciate your patience and encourage you to check back with us soon.
