Pasadena Humane Offering Free Pet Adoptions for One-Day Statewide Event

Pasadena Humane is excited to announce its participation in California Adopt-a-Pet Day on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adoption fees will be waived for all available dogs, cats, and critters at the shelter as part of the statewide initiative hosted by CalAnimals, SF SPCA, and the ASPCA.

More than 150 shelters across California—including Pasadena Humane—are coming together for this year’s event with a shared goal of helping thousands of pets find loving homes. Since the launch of California Adopt-a-Pet Day, the statewide effort has already helped connect thousands of animals with families, highlighting the life-changing impact of pet adoption.

“This event comes at the start of one of the busiest times of year for animal shelters,” says Pasadena Humane President & CEO, Chris Ramon. “With so many wonderful animals currently in our care, this is a great opportunity for families to meet their new best friend while also helping create space for pets who still need our support.”

Adopting from a local shelter offers many benefits for both pets and people. Animals adopted from Pasadena Humane are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccinations before going home. Shelter staff also work closely with adopters to help match them with a pet that fits their home, lifestyle, and experience level.

Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, and standard screening applies. Adoptions include spay or neuter, a microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines. Available pets can be viewed at pasadenahumane.org.
