Mia Dunn

Mia Dunn has been a fundraiser for almost 25 years, nearly 18 of which have been with Pasadena Humane. She began her relationship with the shelter as a volunteer in the development department, and over the years has handled everything from gift entry to special events to planned giving. Getting to know the shelter’s donors, learning why they choose to support Pasadena Humane, and showing them how their generosity makes a difference for the animals is what brings her the most joy.

Outside of work, Mia has been an avid taiko player for over seven years and serves as president of the Makoto Taiko board of directors. She has also served on the board of the former Arroyo Food Co-op and as president of the Pasadena Animal League, the former fundraising auxiliary for Pasadena Humane.

She and her husband have been devoted pet parents to six rescued dogs, five of which have been Welsh Pembroke Corgis, including Gordon (pictured), the latest—and loudest—addition to their household.
