Birding and Naturalist Led Walking Meditation

Join us for a nature walk! This month’s walk will be co-led by Pasadena Humane wildlife staff (Certified California Naturalists) and Angela Woodside, a wildlife biologist who spent years working with California condors. These days, she spends her free time as a volunteer hawk-watcher with the LA Raptor Study and as an active member of Feminist Bird Club LA, a group creating a joyful and inclusive community by connecting people with birds, nature, and each other.

During this walk, we will discuss common birds seen in LA County, practice identifying species, and talk about the many reasons birds are admitted to the Pasadena Humane Wildlife Center for rehabilitation and how we can help mitigate those injuries and illnesses. Bring your cameras, scopes, and binoculars; we will have limited available to borrow.

We encourage the sharing of knowledge with people of all experience levels. We also encourage using community science tools such as ebird, Merlin Bird ID, and iNaturalist apps and will assist those who would like to utilize them on their phones.

Look for a large Pasadena Humane van. Carpooling, biking or public transport is encouraged.
