Adult Cat Adoptions Are Free Throughout June
Pasadena Humane’s adult felines are feeling special as their adoption fees will be waived throughout June. The promotion applies to all cats over 6 months old and aligns with National Adopt-A-Cat Month.
Adult cats are often bypassed by adopters during Spring’s “kitten season,” when a high volume of young kittens enter the shelter. The month-long campaign is designed to highlight those cats who are overlooked, and Pasadena Humane officials say the timing is perfect.
“It can be a challenge for an adult cat to attract an adopter’s attention when competing with dozens of adorable, fluffy kittens,” says Pasadena Humane President & CEO Dia DuVernet. “The benefits of adopting an adult cat are numerous; they require less management, are usually much calmer, and we often have quite a lot of information about them, making their transition to a new home easier.”
The promotion is made possible thanks to generous donor Lyn Spector. All cat adoptions include spay or neuter, a microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines. The regular adoption screening process applies.
Walk-in adoptions are available every day from 2:00 – 5:00. For those who prefer, adoption appointments are available daily from 10:30 – 1:30, and can be scheduled online. To view adoptable animals, visit pasadenahumane.org.
