Community Fundraiser: Vote for Telescope’s New Mascot

Telescope LogoOur friends at Telescope Inc. are raising money for PHS by allowing you to pick their company’s mascot for 2017! To vote for the next great tech pet, select your favorite pet and donate. The pet with the most donations when the vote closes on January 27th will take home the gold! Starting on January 16th, cast your vote and donate to some amazing furry friends in need.  All proceeds will go directly to the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. Vote early, vote often!

Barks and Books @ Library Connection at Adams Square

Barks and Books is our reading enrichment program for children ages 5 to 12 that makes reading fun, boosts confidence and encourages respectful, humane treatment for all animals. It offers children the opportunity to read animal related short stories of their choice to dogs in our Companion Animal Program.

Puppy Social Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Behavior & Training Center

A drop in social hour for puppies between the ages of 2-6 months. This is the perfect opportunity to get your puppy socialized with other puppies in a safe and structured environment. Play interactions are managed and supervised by our trainers to ensure all puppies leave with a new positive experience.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per session; limited sessions are offered during the year

Class includes: Off leash supervised play and socialization with other puppies.

Fees: $8.00 for currently enrolled students; $10.00 for general public

Class capacity: No Limit

Mobile Unit @ The Sofa Co. Adoption Day

The Pasadena Humane Society’s Mobile Outreach Unit is a 33-foot motor home that extends the boundaries and hours of our organization by visiting throughout the Los Angeles area and the nine cities we serve. Our “shelter on wheels” transports the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA to shopping centers, events and festivals throughout our service cities. Known for bringing a selection of adoptable dogs and cats, the outreach unit also carries current information on our spay/neuter services, area wildlife and other programs and services. Our Mobile Outreach Coordinator runs the Unit on volunteer power and is always willing to go to a new location!

Training Workshop: Puppy Manners @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA

You don’t need to send your puppy to finishing school to teach them manners. Just bring them to our Puppy Manners workshop! You and your dog will learn to address jumping, mouthing, crate training and leash manners while your puppy socializes with other puppies and people.

Training Workshop: Loose Leash Walking @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA
Jan 21 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Do you ever feel like your dog is taking you for a walk? Learn techniques to teach your dog appropriate leash manners and to positively reinforce walking with a loose leash. Your dog must be 5 months or older.

Training Workshop: CGC Prep @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA

Help your dog become a model citizen with our CGC prep workshop! The workshop, which focuses on practicing the test items for the Canine Good Citizen certification, is also a great place to start if you’d like your pup to become a therapy dog one day.
