Training Workshop: Impulse Control @ Behavior & Training Room

Is your dog so excited to greet people that they sometimes jump or use their teeth? Help your pup keep its cool at our impulse control workshop! Learn techniques to teach your dog to greet people appropriately and to develop impulse control in a variety of situations.

Critter Camp Week 4 Starts
Jul 22 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Critter Camp is a week-long program for animal lovers 9 to 12 years old. Critter Camps run Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm.

Campers will get hands-on with animals as they learn about dogs, cats and other critters in our shelter, as well as animal behavior, pet adoption, co-existing with wildlife and careers with animals.

Activities include:
• Hands-on animal activities
• Arts and crafts
• Fun and games
• Humane Education

The cost for each camper is $300 and includes a t-shirt, a Community Service Certificate for 30 hours, and an enrichment project for our shelter animals.

Menchie’s Fundraiser @ Menchie's South Pasadena

Come out and enjoy some delicious frozen yogurt on a hot summer day at Menchie’s in South Pasadena, on Mission Street. 20% of all proceeds throughout the entire day will go back to help the animals at Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. Treat yourself to some froyo or some Coffee Royale after lunch to pick you up or grab a group a friends and head over together to peruse all of the delicious flavors and toppings, like Cookie Dough or Blueberry Pomegranate Tart. Puppy Pre-School Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Education & Training Center
Jul 23 @ 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm

For puppies less than 4 months of age only. This class is designed for puppies under 4 months of age and allows owners to take advantage of their puppy’s critical socialization period. Puppies will learn how to respond to their name, get used to being handled and groomed and introduced to walking on leash. They will be introduced to everyday objects, obstacles and other stimulation that will equip them into the next stage of life. Puppies will also have the opportunity to socialize with other puppies in a safe and well managed environment. Owners will be given vital information on early prevention of problem behaviors such as mouthing, biting and house soiling.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 5 weeks

Class includes: Homework, Problem Solving Handouts, and Certificate of Completion

Class capacity: 10 students

Course prerequisites: Dogs must be under 4 months of age on their first week of class and have had their first round of vaccinations 7 days prior to the start of class.You must provide proof of vaccination prior to the first day of class.

A drop in social hour for puppies between the ages of 2-6 months. This is the perfect opportunity to get your puppy socialized with other puppies in a safe and structured environment. Play interactions are managed and supervised by our trainers to ensure all puppies leave with a new positive experience.

Please arrive early to sign in. Doors open at 9:20 a.m.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per session; limited sessions are offered during the year

Class includes: Off leash supervised play and socialization with other puppies.

Fees: $10.00

Class capacity: No Limit
