Puppy Social Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Behavior & Training Center
Sep 23 @ 9:30 am – 10:15 am

A drop in social hour for puppies between the ages of 2-6 months. This is the perfect opportunity to get your puppy socialized with other puppies in a safe and structured environment. Play interactions are managed and supervised by our trainers to ensure all puppies leave with a new positive experience.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per session; limited sessions are offered during the year

Class includes: Off leash supervised play and socialization with other puppies.

Fees: $8.00 for currently enrolled students; $10.00 for general public

Class capacity: No Limit

19th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk @ Brookside Park at the Rosebowl

Grab your leashes and your best four-legged friend! The 19th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk will take place Sunday, September 24 at Brookside Park at the Rose Bowl. Help us raise $300,000 to provide food, shelter, medical care and other services to the thousands of animals—domestic, exotic, wildlife and livestock—who come to the Pasadena Humane Society each year.

Registration is now open! Create a team, join an existing team or sign up as an individual. Build your personal fundraising page and invite friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to join in on the fun.

No dog, no problem. Kids and adults without canine companions are invited to walk around the Rose Bowl and attend the pet expo. Even if you can’t attend the event, you can fundraise online for the animals at Pasadena Humane.

Barks and Books is our reading enrichment program for children ages 5 to 12 that makes reading fun, boosts confidence and encourages respectful, humane treatment for all animals. It offers children the opportunity to read animal related short stories of their choice to dogs in our Companion Animal Program.

Puppy Pre-School Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Education & Training Center

For puppies less than 4 months of age only. This class is designed for puppies under 4 months of age and allows owners to take advantage of their puppy’s critical socialization period. Puppies will learn how to respond to their name, get used to being handled and groomed and introduced to walking on leash. They will be introduced to everyday objects, obstacles and other stimulation that will equip them into the next stage of life. Puppies will also have the opportunity to socialize with other puppies in a safe and well managed environment. Owners will be given vital information on early prevention of problem behaviors such as mouthing, biting and house soiling.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 5 weeks

Class includes: Homework, Problem Solving Handouts, and Certificate of Completion

Class capacity: 10 students

Course prerequisites: Dogs must be under 4 months of age on their first week of class and have had their first round of vaccinations 7 days prior to the start of class.You must provide proof of vaccination prior to the first day of class.

Puppy Kindergarten Classes Begin-FULL @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA Education & Training Center
Sep 26 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Puppy Kindergarten is an introductory-level course for puppies 4 to 6 months of age that focuses on puppy socialization and early training. This six-week covers obedience essentials such as sit, down, stay, come and loose leash walking. We will also problem solve typical puppy problem behaviors such as puppy mouthing, chewing, jumping up, and house soiling.

Date & Time: Tuesdays, September 26 – October 31: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Fees: $150 for general registration; $110 for dogs adopted from PHS; $65 for active PHS volunteers**

Course prerequisites: Dogs must be between the ages of 4 to 6 months and must be able to be handled by a friendly stranger and able to work safely around people and other dogs on leash. Puppies must have their first full round of vaccinations. You must provide proof of vaccinations prior to the first day of class.

Class capacity: 10 students

Class includes: Homework, Problem Solving Handouts, and Certificate of Completion
