Puppy Social Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Behavior & Training Center
Feb 23 @ 9:30 am – 10:15 am

A drop in social hour for puppies between the ages of 2-6 months. This is the perfect opportunity to get your puppy socialized with other puppies in a safe and structured environment. Play interactions are managed and supervised by our trainers to ensure all puppies leave with a new positive experience.

Please arrive early to sign in. Doors open at 9:20 a.m.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per session; limited sessions are offered during the year

Class includes: Off leash supervised play and socialization with other puppies.

Fees: $8.00 for currently enrolled students; $10.00 for general public

Class capacity: No Limit

Waggin’ @ PetSmart Hastings Ranch Center

If you spot a green and white 35’ RV driving to a community event, you have discovered our Wiggle Waggle Wagon (The Waggin’). It extends the boundaries and hours of our organization by visiting events and places in the Los Angeles area. Our “shelter on wheels” is known for bringing a selection of adoptable dogs and cats, as well as current information on our spay/neuter services, area wildlife and PHS programs and services.

Animal Adventurers: Paint and Pet

Get creative and join our Paint and Pet workshop!

We’ll make it a tail-wagging time with a shelter tour, meet-and-greets with some of our shelter residents, and the opportunity to paint a custom animal portrait. All skill levels are welcome!

Join us at the Pasadena Humane Society for a fun-filled workshop of pets and paints.

Hallmark Channel’s Adoption Marathon @ Pasadena Humane Society

Join us on Sunday, February 24 as the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA participates in the Hallmark Channel’s American Rescue Dog Show Adoption Marathon! We are opening an hour early on this day so adoptions will start at 10a.m.!

During the event, the adoption fee will be waived for all available dogs, cats, rabbits and other critters. The adoption includes the spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and up-to-date vaccines. After adopting, visitors can head over to the shelter’s retail store to pick up food and other supplies for their adopted pet.

The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA is located at 361 S. Raymond Avenue in Pasadena, California. Adoption hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular adoption policies and screening apply. View adoptable animals at pasadenahumane.org.

Puppy Pre-School Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Education & Training Center

For puppies less than 4 months of age only. This class is designed for puppies under 4 months of age and allows owners to take advantage of their puppy’s critical socialization period. Puppies will learn how to respond to their name, get used to being handled and groomed and introduced to walking on leash. They will be introduced to everyday objects, obstacles and other stimulation that will equip them into the next stage of life. Puppies will also have the opportunity to socialize with other puppies in a safe and well managed environment. Owners will be given vital information on early prevention of problem behaviors such as mouthing, biting and house soiling.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 5 weeks

Class includes: Homework, Problem Solving Handouts, and Certificate of Completion

Class capacity: 10 students

Course prerequisites: Dogs must be under 4 months of age on their first week of class and have had their first round of vaccinations 7 days prior to the start of class.You must provide proof of vaccination prior to the first day of class.

Bark and Boogie @ Elements Dance Space

Elements Dance Space is offering a new class each month to help the animals at Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. Join them on Wednesday, February 27th for Barks and Boogies. This month is a Zumba dance class. Admission is only $15 per student with proceeds supporting the programs at PHS. Don’t miss this class and come boogie!

Our foothill communities are teeming with native wildlife. Years of drought and warmer weather have caused wild animals, like coyotes, to venture further into our communities in search of food, water and shelter. Join Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA’s Lauren Hamlet (Wildlife Coordinator) for a presentation on coexisting with coyotes. Topics will include how to make your property uninviting for coyotes, keeping your pets safe in coyote prone areas, and hazing techniques to use if you encounter a coyote.
