Wild about Wildlife Donation Drive

Our Wild friends need our help! Throughout the month of June you may directly help the animals by donating to our Wild for Wildlife donation drive. Just click on our Amazon wishlist to see what our staff currently need to care for wildlife in our community. Last year the Pasadena Humane Society helped an estimated 4,000 wild animals, like opossums, ducks, squirrels and birds; please help us care for them this year by donating today.

Sunday Morning Helpers @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA

Can’t volunteer with us on a regular basis? Join us for Sunday Morning Helpers at the Pasadena Humane Society! You, your family members and friends can volunteer for a crafting or cleaning crew. Make cat, dog or rabbit toys and beds for our shelter animals to enjoy or help tidy up the shelter.

The minimum volunteer age for Sunday Morning Helpers is six years old. Volunteers 6-14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Volunteers 15 and older may volunteer on their own. All volunteers must submit required Pasadena Humane Society volunteer waivers and forms.

Elements Community Yoga Class @ Elements Dance Space

Elements Dance Space will be offering complimentary Community Yoga Class beginning May 2018 at 10:30 am every Sunday. Donations will be accepted with all proceeds from the class going to the Pasadena Humane Society. Come in, build up a nice sweat and you’ll leave feeling accomplished and relaxed!

Waggin’ @ PetSmart Alhambra

If you spot a green and white 35’ RV driving to a community event, you have discovered our Wiggle Waggle Wagon (The Waggin’). It extends the boundaries and hours of our organization by visiting events and places in the Los Angeles area. Our “shelter on wheels” is known for bringing a selection of adoptable dogs and cats, as well as current information on our spay/neuter services, area wildlife and PHS programs and services.

Training Workshop: Tricks

No dog is too old to learn new tricks! Your pooch will be showing off tricks like shake, roll over, spin and crawl in no time.

Critter Camp Starts
Jun 25 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Critter Camp is a week-long program for animal lovers 9 to 12 years old. Critter Camps run Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm.

Campers will get hands-on with animals as they learn about dogs, cats and other critters in our shelter, as well as animal behavior, pet adoption, co-existing with wildlife and careers with animals.

Activities include:
• Hands-on animal activities
• Arts and crafts
• Fun and games
• Humane Education

The cost for each camper is $300 and includes a t-shirt, a Community Service Certificate for 30 hours, and an enrichment project for our shelter animals.

**Please note, there will be no Critter Camp, Wednesday, July 4.

Puppy Pre-School Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Education & Training Center

For puppies less than 4 months of age only. This class is designed for puppies under 4 months of age and allows owners to take advantage of their puppy’s critical socialization period. Puppies will learn how to respond to their name, get used to being handled and groomed and introduced to walking on leash. They will be introduced to everyday objects, obstacles and other stimulation that will equip them into the next stage of life. Puppies will also have the opportunity to socialize with other puppies in a safe and well managed environment. Owners will be given vital information on early prevention of problem behaviors such as mouthing, biting and house soiling.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 5 weeks

Class includes: Homework, Problem Solving Handouts, and Certificate of Completion

Class capacity: 10 students

Course prerequisites: Dogs must be under 4 months of age on their first week of class and have had their first round of vaccinations 7 days prior to the start of class.You must provide proof of vaccination prior to the first day of class.
