Pasadena Humane’s Academy offers kids ages 12 to 14 an in-person opportunity to learn about animal care, behavior, health, and enrichment. At the end of the program, the students will have a greater understanding of what it takes to pursue careers in animal welfare. Participants will be able to help in the kennels, interview staff, tour the pet medical clinics, assist with tours, and learn about animal behavior and care all while earning volunteer hours. Pasadena Humane Academy promotes compassion and care for all animals while encouraging tolerance, confidence, and adaptability among participants.
Academy members meet once a week for six weeks, – every Wednesday 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – to engage in a variety of “animal action” discussions, demonstrations, activities, and show & tells. The first session meets on Wednesday, August 25. The last session will be Wednesday, September 29.
