Adoption Promotions

Happy, Healthy Cat Month

September is Happy, Healthy Cat Month, so we’re celebrating our feline friends and everything that makes them purr! Throughout the entire month of September, adoption fees are waived for all adult cats (six months or older). All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a free bag of nutritious cat food, a complimentary health exam, 30 days of pet insurance, and a discount at our Shelter Shop to help keep your new kitty happy and healthy!

Free Adoption Day

Join us at Pasadena Humane on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Free Adoption Day sponsored by the Mericos Foundation! Adoption fees will be waived for all available dogs, cats, and critters. Adoptions include spay or neuter, a microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines. No appointment necessary. Regular adoption process applies. We will not be offering meet-and-greets between pets, so please leave your family pets at home.

Residents of Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada, La Crescenta, Pasadena, Monrovia, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena will need to purchase a license for dogs over 4 months at the time of adoption. Licensing fees vary by city. Bradbury also requires a pet license for cats.

Seniors for Seniors

Our Seniors for Seniors program enables people age 60 and up to adopt pets age 5 and up free of charge, thanks to the generous support of the Pets for the Elderly Foundation.

Of course, most pets at age 5 (like most humans at age 60!) are hardly over the hill; on the contrary, they’re just hitting their stride, and the Seniors for Seniors program—besides offering financial assistance to our more experienced adopters—gives an extra boost to the terrific middle-aged cats and dogs, who are sometimes overlooked by shelter visitors.

Pets for Vets

We offer fee-waived adoptions and vaccines for all active duty and retired military personnel. Adopters must show military ID at time of adoption to qualify. Pets for Vets benefit is not transferrable to other parties. Adopter with military ID must be the person finalizing adoption paperwork and signing adoption agreement. Some restrictions may apply.

Tours

Pasadena Humane is more than a shelter; we are a resource for all animals in the community. Join us for a guided tour to learn more about how we help animals in need. During this hour-long tour, you’ll hear about our history, programs, and services while viewing adorable dogs, cats and critters looking for new homes. The tour will start at the Animal Resource Center. We’ll then travel through the Neely Cat Center and dog kennels learning more about the animals in our care. The tour will end at the Shelter Shop.

Tours are appropriate for all ages and limited to 15 guests.

Tours will be held on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Please sign up here.

Presentations

At Pasadena Humane, we’re more than just a shelter—we’re your go-to animal resource center, offering a wide range of programs and services for both animals and people in the community. Want to learn more about how we help companion animals or peaceful co-existence with wildlife? Invite us for a presentation!

We offer complimentary presentations for community groups, civic organizations, and service clubs throughout our animal care and control service area, including Altadena, Arcadia, Glendale, Pasadena, and more.

Choose from two options: a general presentation or one focused on local wildlife. Each session is packed with information and lasts between 30 to 45 minutes.

While we can’t present in residential homes, we’re happy to come to your community center, meeting space, or other local facilities. Ready to learn more about animal welfare with us? Click here to request your presentation today!

Presentations are available in the cities of Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, and South Pasadena

The Wiggle Waggle Wagon (The Waggin’) is our 35-foot shelter on wheels that brings adoptable pets, services and information about Pasadena Humane to the community. The Waggin also serves as a satellite emergency command post in the field.

The Wiggle Waggle Wagon is made possible by generous donations from the Flora L. Thornton Foundation, Wells Fargo Foundation, Petco Foundation and the Donald Slavik Family Foundation.

We are currently booked through Thanksgiving. Requests must be made 10-12 weeks in advance.

Please fill out this form to ask about a stop at your business or organization.
