Dia DuVernet is honored to serve as President & CEO of Pasadena Humane. Dia has been a lifelong Rose Parade viewer, although the 2020 parade was her first time seeing the parade in person. She is thrilled to represent Pasadena Humane in the 2024 Rose Parade.
Since moving from the East Coast and joining Pasadena Humane in 2019, she has led a dedicated team of animal welfare professionals and volunteers in caring for thousands of homeless pets and injured orphaned wild animals. Dia has also expanded Pasadena Humane’s commitment to keeping pets out of the shelter whenever possible through innovative support services that aim to keep pets with the people who love them.
She has dedicated her career to nonprofit service, working to improve the quality of life for vulnerable animals and people.
Dia will be riding on the float along with her adopted dog, Sueshi, an adorable Shih Tzu mix who has a charming underbite. When Dia rescued Sueshi in 2016, the then 5-month-old puppy was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia, which carries a general life expectancy of 1-2 years. Thanks to good nutrition and a veterinary diet, including Hill’s Prescription dog treats, Sueshi is now thriving at 7 years old.
