Puppy Pre-School

Puppy Pre-School an introductory-level course for puppies 4 months of age and under that takes advantage of your puppy’s critical socialization period.

In this three-week course:

  • Puppies will learn basic skills like responding to their name, becoming comfortable with handling and grooming, and walking on leash.
  • They will develop healthy play skills by socializing with their classmates in a safe and well-managed environment.
  • Owners will be given vital information on early prevention of problem behaviors such as mouthing, biting and house soiling.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 3 weeks. Join anytime. Classes start the first Tuesday after you register.

Fees: $75 for general registration; $55 for dogs adopted from PHS; $40 for active PHS volunteers**

Course prerequisites: Dogs must be under 4 months of age on their first week of class and have had their first round of vaccinations 7 days prior to the start of class. You must provide proof of vaccination prior to the first day of class.

**You must give 7 days prior notice for cancellation with full refund; 72 hours notice – prior to class starting date – is required for a transfer to the next round of class, after which time no refunds or transfers will be issued. Only one transfer issued per student.
