Meet Jesse. He’s an almost-5-year-old energetic, loving pup. Jesse has a unique background as he was rescued from the hurricanes in Puerto Rico when he was just 6 weeks old. He’s grown up in a great environment, with homes full of people, lots of dog parks, trail runs, and camping. He loves freedom, snuggling, laying in awkward positions, and running!
Jesse is highly independent, smart, stubborn, and protective. He’s always gone to the dog park and spent more time greeting people than dogs. He has a sense of great basic training, however he is quite a selective listener. He’s highly food motivated, which makes training fairly natural for him. His favorite thing in the world is long hikes and looking out the window. Then, he just wants to snuggle or at least for you to hold his paw for a while. Although he’s generally a great companion, in his current home, the door is child locked so he does not pull the handle and leave. He can be scared of other dogs and people.
I’m in a position of needing to rehome Jesse after some dramatic shifts in my life. I developed rheumatoid arthritis, I moved across the country, left a partner who split responsibilities with me, and my job now requires me to travel 6+ months of the year. He deserves an owner who is present and can prioritize him.
