Pasadena Humane’s Academy offers kids ages 12 to 14 an in-person opportunity to learn about animal care, behavior, health, and enrichment. At the end of the program, the students will have a greater understanding of what it takes to pursue careers in animal welfare. Participants will be able to help in the kennels, interview staff, tour the pet medical clinics, assist with tours, and learn about animal behavior and care, all while earning volunteer hours. Pasadena Humane Academy promotes compassion and care for all animals while encouraging tolerance, confidence and adaptability among participants.
Academy members meet once a week for six weeks, – every Wednesday 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – to engage in a variety of “animal action” discussions, demonstrations, activities, and show & tells. The first session meets on Wednesday, October 13. The last session will be Wednesday, November 17.
Fall Session 2: October 13 – November 17
*Please note: All participants will be required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Social distancing will be practiced. Temperature checks will be given prior to entry and there will be hand sanitizer available.
