May

May and her sister, April, both came to Pasadena Humane as strays. While May is an absolute beauty of a German Shepherd, her personality so far has been hard to analyze. May looks to her sister for clues on what to do, so obviously April is more confident in whatever is happening. May remains scared and confused so our staff has been working to try to convince her that everything is okay. But in her mind, it’s not okay and she is watchful from the back of her kennel. A great deal of patience is going to be needed to help her relax. But by looking at the most recent picture of her, you can easily see a pretty relaxed dog standing in our play yard! Recently volunteers have reported that May is much braver when April is around and then May will wag her tail and allow some petting. As time goes by, we will update our progress with what we know can be a sweet dog!

Update: **ADOPTED** It's been a whirlwind this we Update: **ADOPTED**

It's been a whirlwind this week at Pasadena Humane. In addition to 12 cats being evacuated from one household, 14-week-old Puddles came to us in serious pain. She had an enormous, painful mass protruding from under her chin–likely caused from a severely traumatic event. Our medical team had to work fast, as it was on the brink of rupturing.

She was rushed into surgery, where our veterinary team drained a massive amount of blood. They then inserted a drain so that she will be able to heal properly. She is now as playful as ever, and will soon be looking for her forever home.

To give other animals like her the same fighting chance, please give to our Miracle Medical Fund today at pasadenahumane.org/miracle. It is because of friends like you that we are able to respond so quickly to emergencies like this one.

We found that many are suffering from upper respiratory infections. Additionally, multiple cats have such extreme cases of conjunctivitis that they are unable to open their eyes. Others are suffering from severe ear infections, one of which is so substantial that it is causing him to lose his balance. He has been admitted to our ICU, where he is being treated for the infection.

A few of the cats have been moved to foster homes, where their medical issues will be closely monitored with the help of our veterinary team. We hope all of the cats will be healthy and ready for adoption soon!

Please donate today at pasadenahumane.org/donate to help provide the resources needed for their speedy recoveries. Your support will give them and others like them the second chance they deserve!

This evening, we took in twelve cats from a hoardi This evening, we took in twelve cats from a hoarding situation. The cats had been discovered by the property management company after the owner passed away. Many of the cats have severe upper respiratory infections, and our veterinary staff is working to evaluate them and determine their medical needs.

These cats are confused and scared, but your support will make it possible for them to have a second chance. Your generosity will allow us to treat their illnesses, find wonderful temporary foster homes for them, and adopt them into loving forever homes when they're ready.

Thank you for making it possible for us to save cats from hoarding cases like these. Please give today at pasadenahumane.org/donate or via the donate button in our profile to help provide crucial resources for these cats.
