The name Maverick has the meaning of “independent” and “bursting with spirit.” Pasadena Humane’s Maverick was brought in by an owner who simply didn’t have the time or energy to deal with the playful spirit he has! Maverick is reported to play hard and is full of energy. Here at the shelter, Maverick was confused and becsme anxious, although with calm and consistent interaction with our staff, a more trusting dog is begining to emerge. At a youthful 2 years of age, Maverick still has a lot of puppy energy and playfulness. A suggested home for Maverick is one that is already dog savvy, only with older kids and adults, and has the time to give to a couple of walks (or jogging?) per day. Maverick is a guy who wants your attention for playing and is not a couch potato. In looking at Maverick’s picture taken when he first arrived at Pasadena Humane, we see a somewhat shy looking dog with some probable anxious panting. But take a look at those soft, hopeful eyes!
