According to online name interpretation, the name Lyka is perceived as someone who is full of life, uplifting, and charmiing. Lyka and her sibling, Mia, were both brought in as strays. Lyka has been a bit shy since her arrival at the shelter, but overall, is friendly and alert. Volunteers report that she walks well on leash and is probably house-trained. Lyka will approach someone new, especially if they have treats in their hand! They also mention that she enjoys petting and walks well on leash. German Shepherd Dogs are considered to be very intelligent and can make wonderful canine companions. She seems to do best with her sibling at her side. Lyka, at a young five years of age, is still full of life even though she is considered to be a senior dog. As a senior dog, she qualifies for our Senior for Seniors Program in which if an adopter is sixty years old or more, then the adoption is totally free! As well, past and present military members can adopt for free. Lyka is a gorgeous looking dog who needs a new fur-ever home where she can feel loved and secure. A quieter home with older kids and adults is probably best for her. If you like Lyka, bring her into your home where her uplifting and charming personality is sure to blossom!
I’m available for a 30 day adoption trial through the Foster to Adopt program. If you are interested in giving me a test adoption run in your home, please sign up for an adoption consultation.
