Kiwi is a name/word with a lot of meanings: Flightless large bird, New Zealand dollar, and a fruit berry. None of those can compare to Pasadena Human’es Kiwi. She came to our shelter after her owner had to move out of state. Kiwi had bonded a lot with the owner and wasn’t to keen on being left at the shelter . . . so she walked to the door of our office and with her mouth on the doorknob, easily opened the door! Talk about a smart dog! German Shepherd dogs are generally considered to be quite intelligent and we suspect Kiwi is no exception! She loves to be with people but can be shy when meeting someone for the first time. Taking alook at Kiwi’s picture, one can see a gorgeous looking dog with alert ears and a relaxed mouth. Is she waiting for someone to play with her and the toy? Volunteers report that she likes to play fetch and enjoys her toys! Kiwi is a young five years old and qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors Program. This means any adopter who is sixty years old or more can adopt Kiwi totally FREE! The same holds true for any past or present military personnel. Bring Kiwi home with you today!
