Pasadena Humane Society Teams Up with KTLA for “Take 5 to Care” Donation Drive and Adoption Day on December 16

PASADENA, Calif. (December 14, 2015) – – Wondering how you can make a shelter pet’s life merrier this holiday season? On Wednesday, December 16, the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA joins forces with KTLA 5 for “Take 5 to Care,” a day-long pet supply donation drive and $5 pet adoption event aimed at finding furry friends forever homes for the holidays.

On the big day, the animal shelter’s front parking lot will be transformed into a wonderland of gifts for pets in need. The Pasadena Humane Society’s goal is to receive every item on its online wish list, which can be found on the Society’s website. Supporters can also donate to the shelter by texting “PETS” to 80077.

“The top item on our wish list is that all the animals in our shelter find a loving home this holiday season,” said Steve McNall, President and CEO of the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. “We are beyond thankful to KTLA 5 for providing us with the opportunity to partner with them on ‘Take 5 to Care.’”

KTLA 5 News will be broadcasting live from the Pasadena Humane Society throughout the day and night.

“Take 5 to Care” is KTLA 5’s year-round commitment to engage, educate and involve Southern California individuals and families with matters that affect the community. This year marks the first time the TV station has selected a local shelter.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Pasadena Humane Society in our shared commitment to shelter pets this holiday season!  What better way to celebrate the spirit of giving than to help provide supplies and donations to pets in need of a loving home. Our goal would be to find a forever home for every pet in need!!” said Adrianne Anderson, Vice President of Creative Services at KTLA 5.

The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA is located at 361 S. Raymond Avenue in Pasadena, California. The pet supply donation drive will be happening from 4 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the shelter’s front parking lot on Raymond Avenue.  Adoption hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular adoption policies and screening apply.  View the shelter’s wish list and adoptable animals at pasadenahumane.org.
