Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA’s latest video with partner 1620 Media has gone viral! The video tells the story of Walter’s adoption by 10-year-old Julia. Walter and Julia are both deaf, and became fast friends. Julia and Walter’s story has appeared on Good Morning America, People, Mashable, The Huffington Post, Today, ABC News, and CBS News, to name a few. The story has been shared worldwide in countries like the UK, France, South Korea, India, and Brazil.

We thought you might enjoy a closer look at the pair’s life together!

A month after adopting Walter, Julia’s mom, Chrissy, wrote in to let us know how they were doing, and we knew we just had to feature their story. “Walter was meant to be a part of our family,” Chrissy writes. “He and Julia have such a great bond together. Julia has taken over the big sister role and is loving teaching this little guy sign language. I never let her feel any different because of her hearing loss and it’s amazing how she is doing the same with Walter.”

Here’s Walter behind the scenes of his video shoot with 1620 Media at PHS.

Chrissy hopes Walter and Julia’s story “will encourage others to adopt and love their pets a little more. These two are my loves,” she says, “and they have taught me that love defines all.
