PHS Academy provides participants ages 12-14 the opportunity to learn more about the real-life skills required to operate and work in an animal shelter. During this 8-week session of lectures, hands-on labs, and projects, participants will gain a better understanding of shelter work and the animal welfare field. Participants will be able to help in the kennels, interview staff, observe surgeries, assist with tours, and learn about animal behavior and care all while earning volunteer hours. PHS Academy promotes compassion and care for all animals, while encouraging tolerance, confidence, and adaptability among participants.
Registration is $240 for the entire session and includes a T-shirt, ID badge, materials, and a Community Service Certificate. Be sure to read the Kids for Animals Manual before you register.
