PHS @ Pasadena District 7 Summer Kickoff Meeting @ Beckman Lawn

PHS is excited to attend the Pasadena District 7 Summer Kickoff Meeting. Bring the kids and a picnic blanket and get ready for some summer community fun! Stop by to hear Pasadena Humane Society President/CEO Julie Bank will speak on coexisting with coyotes and to hear more about our programs and services in the community, find out how to get involved and snag free animal-related giveaways!

Parking is available on Wilson or across the street in the public parking lot which is free after 5:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

We accept payment by cash, credit card or check with valid identification. Vaccinations and microchip implants are open to residents of any city. Pet licensing services are only available to Arcadia, Altadena, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena and Unincorporated Pasadena residents. Dogs must be on leash, and cats must be in carriers.

Puppy Pre-School Session @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA's Education & Training Center

For puppies less than 4 months of age only. This class is designed for puppies under 4 months of age and allows owners to take advantage of their puppy’s critical socialization period. Puppies will learn how to respond to their name, get used to being handled and groomed and introduced to walking on leash. They will be introduced to everyday objects, obstacles and other stimulation that will equip them into the next stage of life. Puppies will also have the opportunity to socialize with other puppies in a safe and well managed environment. Owners will be given vital information on early prevention of problem behaviors such as mouthing, biting and house soiling.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 5 weeks

Class includes: Homework, Problem Solving Handouts, and Certificate of Completion

Class capacity: 10 students

Course prerequisites: Dogs must be under 4 months of age on their first week of class and have had their first round of vaccinations 7 days prior to the start of class.You must provide proof of vaccination prior to the first day of class.

Community Fundraiser: Crossfit Crown City Family Workout

5_cclogoYour kid can have a fun fitness session at Crossfit Crown City and support the animals all at once! Admission is $25 per child (ages 5-16) and will allow them to come back for 4 sessions over the two weeks following the fundraiser. 100% of ticket sales goes directly to the animals at Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA.

Pet Parent 101 @ Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA

Are you considering adopting a pet or have you recently adopted one? Our Pet Parent 101 workshop is the perfect place for you to learn more about basic dog and cat care. Questions such as “How do I choose the right pet?” and “Should I adopt a puppy/kitten or an adult?” will be answered by our training and behavior staff. Additional topics include feeding, grooming, veterinary care, essential pet supplies, what to expect when you bring your new pet home and introducing your new pet to resident pets. This workshop is free. No RSVP required. Families are welcome, but please leave your pets at home.
